You know by posting this you're doing exactly what he wants? He purposely says **** like that to stir people up. This guy does more promoting for Activision just by saying a few words that he knows will piss people off and get them talking then the companys add campaigns >.>If i ever want a person to be teleported to the sun it would be this guy.

The guy naturally has a big mouth. No CEO would want their company image smeared.

He's obviously lost pretty much all Activisions sales, right? I'm sure you know better than the CEO of a major, international company on HOW to be a CEO.[QUOTE="Prexxus"]

You do know that it's very common practice to do this right? LOTS of companys create drama just for the publicity. All I see is some villain sitting on his high throne preaching his propaganda to the enslaved people while Valve, Epic, Blizzard, iD Software etc. brandish their swords, ready to lop the monster's head off and claim victory over darkness!
Right let's move on because honestly no one cares what this guy says anyway. Heck, he even considered an idea of selling video game cut scenes separately from the actual game, so *shrugs* , let him enjoy himself in his own little world in that head of his.

Blizzard as in Activision Blizzard? Of which he's the CEO.

Oh wait, he didn't mention Blizzard BUT STILL..... calling Bungie the"last remaining high quality independent developer" in the world. Even if he is CEO of Activision-Blizzard, no mention of Blizzard themselves there.
One of the first lessons I learned in life was to consider the source. The second was follow the money. He's just looking for pub and getting it from what I see here. If he's not a complete goof then it's real close. I have to say though it's no less entertaining then some of the things I read in these forums, if you like dark humor that is.
Six months before half of Blizz quit to form a new indie house so that they don't feel the constraints of Activicious. This is not going to be pretty I reckon.
What really annoys me is that the people who bash him, still buys his crap.

That's because people tend to get brainwashed by their advertisements and believe into thinking that 'that' particular game is the 'in' thing and they need to have it.
Advertising sells.
Can we all reach some kind of consensus to just stop paying attention to this guy? I think he just enjoys being annoying and getting press attention.
Kotick is at it again? OMGWTFBBQ, man the pitchforks lets burn him the bastard deserves to be punished stop the satan of gaming!
In a more serious note, the dude's a joke, you can see that he is clearly talking a load of BS and he knows it, so just leave him and get angry over things that are actually worthwhile (like when your girlfriend always has a headache when its happy time ;) )
Honestly nothing of what he is saying make any proper sense... independent?dakan45Independant developers are developers who aren't owned by a big publishing company. You know, like Bungie. And I personally think that Bobby Kotick isn't as terrible a person as everyone makes him out to be, he's just a bit uh...simple. He doesn't seem very good with words, and as a result says things like this that aren't entirely in the context he intended. That said, I think it's relatively clear that he meant there aren't many independent developers who crank out big-budget highly rated and highly selling games anymore. Which is true. Bungie are one of the last. THAT SAID. Bungie has only been making Halo games recently, which are owned by Microsoft, so it's not and Indie IP. So the entire point was really badly thought out. Also he's trying to publicise the game. Yes, it's a little controversial to say these things, because while not completely wrong they are a horrible generalisation of the entire industry, but it gets Activision publicity. And yes, the old saying is true "All publicity is good publicity"

Yep, and when they buy it they're like: " this is so similar". Well, duh. It's Kotick at work here.
