so i played the demo on the 360 and really LOVED the style it had with the shaky camera and blurred out headshots when you decapitated a head...but of course it wasn't full price good
anyone played the full game and is it worth measly $5?

I played maybe 45mins of the 360 version at a friends, wasnt that impressed.. BUT.. for 5$ I think ill definatly get it (;
Not a game I would buy at full price, but at 5$, its tempting (:
Damn you steam! I dont need more games! ;)

i know...i just started using steam today...well i've had it for awhile, only got it to get portal for free
but i've always heard how good the holiday sales are so i thought i'd check them out...and i'm already hooked, lol
yea...i mean it's GOT to be worth at least $5...i know the multiplayer looked really fun an interesting, just don't know how active the community is though
plus i'm an achievement W**** so that's 59 possible achievements for just $5
Nearly ANY game out there is worth a small amount like $5.... but yes, you are right....game wasn't as good as the first one, so it's not worth the full price...so i played the demo on the 360 and really LOVED the style it had with the shaky camera and blurred out headshots when you decapitated a head...but of course it wasn't full price good

I really enjoyed the first Kane and Lynch game.. and I highly doubt the second could be as terrible as critics have put it out to be. I don't listen to critics anyways. Sometimes, user reviews and opinions matter more to me (when I trust this user). Alpha Protocol is amazing and the only reason I never bought it because I had way too many games to finish and I didn't have money to throw around. Well, for $7.50, it's a steal and I would gladly pay $30 or more. I'm sure I'll feel the same way about K&L so I'll be picking this one up tonight when I get home. Sucks to be working on Thanksgiving Day but work hard and smart now, and enjoy the benefits later I guess.Elann2008K&L 2 isn't a BAD game....I was just expecting a lot more after the first one, which I actually quite liked a lot... The second one feels very RUSHED.... not polished at all in some parts (and no, I'm not talking about the camera which makes u dizzy).... Just don't expect much from the ending either.... shameful....

I'm glad it's only $5.
The demo convinced me that even $5 would be a waste.mo0ksiTHat bad huh? Alright, alright.. I'll take that bit of time to download the 360 demo and try it out before I put down $5. I understand it's measley for some people, but wasting money is wasting money.
I took sandwiches to work for lunch, didn't buy a bottle of coke and with the $6 I would have normally spent I purchased K&L DD.
It was that simple to me. 8)
Well, I'm liking it a lot (Even with it's performance issues), although... how many people disabled the "sharpen" option?
[QUOTE="KillerJuan77"]Well, i even disabled the fullscene effects, damn video camera effects crap. Anyway perfomance was sooo bad for me.Well, I'm liking it a lot (Even with it's performance issues), although... how many people disabled the "sharpen" option?

For what I read in the Digital Foundry analysis the game slows down intentionally, but still :S.

Proably trying to run on 25 fps or 30 fos to suit this "Camera" feeling. Whatever, i wont point out that they did it because of consoles. I will only say that i was RIGHT when i said it runs like that everyone said that its just me that it "perfoms" bad. Anyway i was hoping for a fast paced fps that you can see what is going on and not this amateur youtube uploaded taped video that it turned out to be.Just a heads up for those that don't know.. You can turn off the "fullscreen effects" and "shaky camera" if they ever bother you. Elann2008Which i did and it disabled ALL the effects and the game looked as bland as the first. I wanted to turn off the video camera effects not the "game" effects.

I loved the visual style, and I still can't understand why people can watch every Bourne movie with their horrible camerawork and yet this game looks horrible.

They trapped me in there the same way, haha. "Free Portal! *small text*oh and by the way, you're going to drive yourself into the poorhouse around Christmas and Thanksgiving" :P Not quite the poor house, but still, spending more money than I should be. I even bought an RPG the other day! :O I don't even play RPGs! Torchlight did look interesting and for $5, who could argue? I've been loving these Indie packs. Back on topic, what's $5 worth as far as time being entertained goes? I'm PRETTY sure however long it is, Kane and Lynch will entertain you for that long. I personally didn't buy it because it's PC only, I'm primarily on the Mac and prefer to not have to reboot into Windows when I don't have to.I watched 1 or 2 bourne movies. I didnt like them but there were no film grain effects or lines acrros the screen when you hit a lightsource or stupid censhorship everywhere.dakan45
Again, I liked the visual style and the censorship, but I still respect your opinion.
Also, for annoying Film Grain, see Killzone 2 or 3.

Are there specific parts where the game slows down? I've seen as low as 40 fps but it's usually 70-90.. and I have all the graphics settings cranked pretty good. Haven't noticed any parts with intentional slowdown or anything, but maybe I just haven't come across them yet. The game isn't a visual stunner, but I like the lighting effects and there seems to be a lot of "stuff" in the maps, like the alleyways and apartments and such. Are there specific parts where the game slows down? Remember the "Laying Low" chapter? Remember that you have to shoot a gas tank in a kitchen from a video store? The framerate can drop to 30 or even 8 FPS (http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/kane-and-lynch-2-dog-days-performance-analysis?size=hd).
When anything explodes the camera shakes and the framerate drops too, so there are many intentional framerate drops.
Finished it in one sitting. Excellent game, but not for the price originally asked. Loved the atmosphere, loved the characters and the action. A very concentrated dose of nihilistic violence. I'm glad someone had the balls to make a game like this.
I think Michael Mann presents Whack-A-Mole 2010 is a good description of Kane and Lynch 2...
