I am thinking of getting a game on the weekends but my parents only allow me one game therefore I am pretty confused which game should I buy.

I heard Gears of War have some "stuttering issues" and I have a E6600, 4GIGS RAM, and a 8800GTS 320MB. Will I be affected by the stuttering. Is this game worth my NZ$100?

I heard of Kane and Lynch. Its been getting mixed review so far and I like crime stories. Is the gameplay similar to gears of war?Is this game worth my NZ$100?

Don't pick up a crappy waste of time game like Kane and Lynch. Go for Gears. It plays a lot better on console imo because of the controls, but if you dont have a console, and havent played it then PC will do just fine. They added content too.

I beat it 3 times on console. This was a year ago. If you havent played it yet. You should really play it. It's a great exprience for Single player and Multiplayer.

Uhhh...I haven't per se, but I believe those who have are still scarred from the game play and the sheer awfulness of the mechanics....nearly as horrible as Lynch.

I'll tell ya my opinion. I didn't get K&L yet, but I got Gears and I have a similar rig.

Technically the game runs smooth, but when I put it on DX10+AA on it has some leaping at some points, although not always. But then when I turned the AA off and it worked perfect. I'm running it on 1680x1050 so I don't mind.

When it comes to the game itself, so far it's fun, but I expected more. I was totally hyped about the game, and I never got to play the 360 version since I'm more of a pc gamer. I don't quite know how to explain it, but something was missing for me. But I didn't finish the game yet and I didn't try playing any multiplayer mode yet, and the co-op still sounds brilliant.

Consider I said the same before I finished Crysis (which I got three days before Gears), so maybe I'll change my mind soon. If you can by the way, get Crysis instead if you didn't already, it's one hell of an amazing game and amazing experience.

Kane and Lynch is a good game. But it isn't as good as Hitman series and the AIs are very stupid.

Any game on PC is playable using a controller.

I guess Gears is better, but don't expect much online (unless you pay for a GOLD windows live account, luckily it comes with a trial). The single player is fun, yet I had problems with the graphics. Many of the graphics options didn't even work for me, the post-processing worked great but when I attempted to turn up the texture and character details there were no noticable differences. Hopefully a patch will fix the issues..

I have E6600, 2GB 800Mhz Ram, 7950GT (512MB), and at 1280x1024 runs smooth everything on highest settings available. Go with Gears if you don't have a 360.

DON'T BUY A GOLD ACCOUNT ON GFW LIVE, OR THE TYRANTS WILL WIN!!! (If you have XBL then of course use that account.)

Yeah, for $100 NZ, Gears is definetly your choice, they need to make a patch fixing the occasional stuttering, cuz it's playing like a damn slideshow sometimes computers with superior hardware then the reccomended, it runs great overall, but every now and then it will stutter and that can be either life or death sometimes.

I LOVE using KB&M on Gears of War, because I don't have to worry about making the wrong dive, or having to turn around completely to take cover over something I just jumped over to get on the other side of it, I can just double tap the S key and boom, I'm safe. When I use a controller, yes the controls are great, but man, sometimes I feel like w/e character I'm using has no sense of direction and just doesn't do what I tell him to do! They did a good job "nerfing" the precision of a mouse too, it just has slightly more recoil, it's not uncontrollable or anything, and the controller has less recoil, which is a good "nerf", unlike call of duty where you can have a completely steady shot with your bolt action rifle with a scope on it, aimed directly at someones head, and then you fire and the bullet fly's like a mile away from your target, and then the guy see's your flash, and uses his damn iron sights and get's you in the head. I don't know if that's bad design or "nerfing" but I'm gonna go with nerfing because I'd assume snipers would be too good if it wasn't for that crap.
