Keyboard and mouse. No messing around with cords (wireless), universal (commands games and normal pc stuff) and it doesent need to be moved every time you want to use them.

I tried using a Joystick for Half-Life 2. Was a bit fun for a while but just had the same imprecise feel of an analog stick.

I'm not sure I understand the point of this post.

Each genre of game has it's own desired control method. This seems as silly as those vs. posts.

I don't think he's asking which we think is the better peripheral, and we will naturally use keyboard and mouse for FPS/etc and stick for whatever we use it for, I think he is simply asking which we like the most.

You have pizza for your meal and you have ice cream for desert, but you're still going to have a preference.

different controllers for different games. there's no way i'm playing flight sims with anything but a joystick; there's no way i'm playing racing sims with anything but a wheel + pedals (unless it's a game like trackmania); and there's no way i'm playing rts or fps or rpg with anything but keyboard + mouse. i'm not sure what the op is asking exactly, but that's how i see things.

Personally, I think that's a bad joystick to be using for the comparison. If you're using the kb/m setup, you should really use the full-on joystick setup. So, here you go. Couple the Cougar HOTAS with a good set of rudder pedals and then we'll do the comparison.

As it stands, I love my Thrustmaster Afterburner Mk. II while playing any kind of flight games (Crimson Skies, iL-2, Falcon 4.0, Freespace 2, Wing Commander...you name it). But, if I'm playing RTS/FPS/TPS/TBS, then it's all about kb/m. However, even then, when I play racing games (NfS or TDU), I needs me my 360 controller.

Mouse and keyboard for me.

I had that one :P. It is very good, but since I didn't play flight simulators too often I sold it but it was awesome and the digital display gave it an awesome feeling and the throttle is on of the best, way better than Afterburner 2.

You want phallic? Consider where most aircraft place the cyclic/control surface controller. In addition to that, consider how such an itty-bitty controller basically controls the maneuverability of such a large aircraft. Now that's Freudian comedy gold right there.

Keyboard and mouse for everything. Have tried playing with gamepads and well it feels like there is no connection between my hands and brain.

Just cant get used to the gamepads/Joysticks.
