I haven't played much of killing floor but its more interesting. The zombie variety seems better its also more of a creepy gritty tone. Its more like nazi zombies from world at war rather than left 4 dead.
Depends on what you enjoy more. If you would prefer to eventually versus other people and to play as zombies/infected/whatever, then I would say L4D2 would be a better pick. This only lasts more if you feel like trying out 10 vs 10 servers and perks or point mods.
Otherwise if you prefer more just teaming up with others and surviving an onslaught of zombies, Killing Floor would be the better choice for that. Also with the more maxium people a server, the more carnage. Also Killing Floor gives you clas ses where you are better fitting for a role. As well as there are quite a few more weapon choices than L4D2.
But really it depends on what you want from the game, but either way both are quite fun for what they do.
L4D2 may look like a much higher quality game but I have actually put way more time into playing Killing Floor. Its so simple, so repetitive, yet so fun.
Depends what type of shooter you want. Survival, slower, class based. Killing Floor. Run and gun, faster, more gameplay options. L4D2. Both are great games, I am more than happy owning both, even after playing Killing Floor since the first UT04 release build.
You can't pay attention to the ratings all the time. Killing Floor and L4D2 are a little different. For example the gun play. I prefer L4D2 over Killing Floor because the friends I play with make it pretty enjoyable. Killing Floor is enjoyable with friends too, but it's more tense in my opinion. I mentioned the gun play of Killing Floor, I think it is a lot better and enjoyable then L4D2. It just really depends on who you are. They're different games in their own rights.
They're slightly different, but I like the production values of the L4D series better. But both are infinitely more enjoyable when played through with friends.
