It's so dissapointing, I was expecting much better from valve...

besides the characters, it's an improvement. The engine runs better, looks better... they have new physics effects. The guns have been balanced, way more guns have been added in, 3 new playable infected have been added in.

agree with all of this. Although, I find melee weapons abit overpowered. i can understand the machete being one hit kills, but stuff like the frying pan and nightstick shouldnt really kill zombie when hit on the feet. I got boomed and all I had to do was stand still whacking the oncoming horde, each hit took down like 2-3 at a time. thats just my 2 cents. other than that I love it! the new gore effects are great!
Because thats totally worth a sequel... The engine now has a freezing sound loop for me and a few others according to steam forums. Guns? Please they added a few guns that could have easily been added into a match and three new infected? Three. All it is is a polished version of l4d1. Nothing that truly makes it a sequelbesides the characters, it's an improvement. The engine runs better, looks better... they have new physics effects. I think it's too much like the 1st one, I understand it is Left for dead 2 and its a continuity of the Left 4 dead series but im just not sold, only thing that actually got me interested was when looking through the directory finding files that hint of an Original LFD survivor comeback
Yeah, I didn't get into Killing Floor at all.I really don't understand how people can complain that L4D gets boring and then glorify KF. I was bored of KF by the end of the free weekend. Same map for the whole round, wave after wave of specimens. Can't wait for L4D2.

ThisI played the original a lot and I'm totally gonna buy L4D2.

Even tho I played the original, both it and the sequel have a certain appeal like GTA games for example, no matter how much you play it and try to forget about it you always come back and the sequel is pretty different.
Problems that I have with it:
- daylight, it's stupid I don't know what they thought when they made maps like this...I thought it was a bad decision when I saw gameplay footage but now that I played it, it's a lot worse than I imagined
- maybe it's because of the demo or some limitations but I played it 4 times and it was exactly the same, no random object placements, other paths (of course not major ones, I didn't expect them to move buildings so that we have new paths) - this is pretty much one of the few reasons for this purchase (for future mods that would make the game better than Valve) and I saw no such thing here
- it's not as complex as L4D when it comes to detail and places that you can explore (at least on this campaign)
- melee weapons are too powerful, but I can't say I mind this too much
- the shotgun is too powerful and this is very bad because I like versus and it's not fair to kill a smoker with one shot to the body from 3 meters or so, especially with the tactical shotgun or w/e the name was
- and the last, the game doesn't look better and runs better, some things look better, like effects and characters and some minor things, but most of it looks worse that L4D, the building textures etc and it's not even close to how detailed L4D was, of course it would run better even if they didn't "tune" the textures.
