It's on sale for $20 (complete pack) and it seems pretty cheap. Think it'll drop anymore during the summer sale?

Its definitely worth $20. One of the most intense puzzle games that you will ever play. Its extremely well written and very atmospheric. Some game play elements don't work but overall it is addictive and compelling.
I've heard good things about it. I do love phoenix wright(kinda similar) and puzzle games, but I might wait until it goes back to $12(too many games to finish now). I could have snagged it for $10 if I still had the 50% off coupon for it. YoshiYogurtIts up to you but I say its worth $20 because you'll get so many hours out of it. I racked up 30 hours.
Pro-tip: The dialogue options were intended to be Coax, Force, Lie. They ended up as Coax, Doubt, Lie.
I enjoyed searching for clues - it's casual and dumb but compelling. The crime scenes and locations you visit are very cool. Everything else was either boring or bad IMO. I lost interest about 7 hours in.
You can choose any dialogue options and totally sabotage the case and it doesn't matter. It's pretty hard to choose the wrong options since everybody overacts and exaggerates their facial expressions like a boss. I think the game is more fun if you play as a psycho instead of pretending you're actually investigating and reading subjects.
If your more into adventure games its a game your like. i thought omg this is cool. But then got bored of it quick.

people get much harder to read later on. It turns into a bit of a crapshoot at times, judging between coax and doubt.
I like how you still progress with the story even if you do a terrible job with detective work. Its an enjoyable game despite some flaws, It went on sale for 7 bucks over the winter holidays... def worth it for that price. I depends on your taste in games whether or not its worth 20. I got 18 hours out of it before I lost interest (the anti-climax after homicide), although I do plan to finish the game eventually.
It's not a bad game but i got bored with it quickly.KodiakKoolaidseems to be the common complaint that im hearing about it. yeah, waiting till it goes lower seems to be the best idea in my opinon.....at least for me. this seems to be the trend with rockstars games lately.....im hoping that Max Payne doesnt suffer the same fate..
I have the PS3 version and it's worth it for sure. I'd rather play it on console though, but it's still good.ShadowsDemonPc games are waaay cheaper and better looking. Save my consoles for Halo and Mario and other exclusives.

I thoroughly enjoyed LA Noire. Really interesting, unique, and very well done. I would definitely say get it for PC (although I played through it with my 360 controller. It felt like one of those games). But, if your computer is particularly dated, you might be better off on the console. The graphics are top-notch, and because of the unique facial-mapping animation, there's not a lot you can turn down, either. My laptop is certainly no beast, but it's not terrible, and I got some terrible framerates, from time to time. Stayed at a playable framerate for the most part, though.

you definitely need friends on the same platform to enjoy La Noire.
That is a must.

I found that it got really repetitive around the middle of the game, during all of the very similar Homicide cases.
I think it's worth playing through to the end though, since the plot really picks up in the second half - particularly in the last few hours, which were my favourite parts of the game.
But yes, $20 or less would be a fine price for it. I happily paid full price for it myself (but then again, I'm a bit of a noir junkie).

i decided to wait cause i picked up borderlands and bioshock 2 in the 2K sale. next time itll be on sale for lower.......mabey!
Wonderful game. If you love a well-written and atmospheric game, get it now. Be warned though that the game is locked at 30fps because the facial animations were captured at that.
Elann2008
Get the fix for it and it unlocks to 60FPS then. It's so much better at 60fps
It was the awesome motion capture that made me finish the game. The game itself is rather tedious.

I agree. I wanted to keep going just to see the tech in action. Without it the game would be pretty good but the faces REALLY sell the situations and the immersive atmosphere

Is that actually possible? Aren't the faces recorded at 30 FPS? You wouldn't want the rest of the game to overlap that.[QUOTE="seanmcloughlin"][QUOTE="Elann2008"]

I have played at 60 fps and nothing seems off. Most of the times guys are talking anyway the scene isn't moving much so unless you see them talking and walking all the time together it doesn't make much difference really. interrogation scenes are always very static except for faces.
Put it this way if it was as jarring as you think I would have noticed it but I haven't really noticed much. Why not just try it anyway and if you don't like it change back. Simple

Are you kidding me? 3d usually slashed the frame rate in half, so that's a laughable 15. But since it's locked at 30 it should stay 30 in 3d. Different for every game but 75% of the time the game's fps is halved.15 bucks! Or the complete version for 20. Hmmmm, is the complete worth the extra 5 bucks?

Since its all the DLC and the DLC is pretty hefty in size and amounts, I'd say its definitely worth it.
