Is anyone else feeling really happy or really scared considering the GTA IV port? :P
i still dont really understand all the hate for the PC port of GTA4. maybe im just really lucky but the game has been problem free for me. on my old rig it ran pretty well (crushing the consoles if were to use that as a benchmark) and on mittens it runs very nicely at high settings with a long draw distance. it was something more approaching a proper PC port also...not just a quick and dirty job. it was very scalable, it had new art assets added and its shadowing system was overhauled after release. yknow...some actual proper upgrades that put the hardware to good use. rockstar also did a great job with long term patch support for the PC. they were certainly far superior in this regard compared to GTA3. not only did they fix bugs but they also improved things like shadows and providing more setting to change so people could fine tune better. GTA games are always demanding...there not just some little corridor shooter with a draw distance measured in CM. they have a hell of a lot of stuff going on in the background and masses of things to draw. considering it was an upgrade from its console counterpart its requirements were not unreasonable. imho they only got 4 things wrong with the port. - no official mod support. - installs a lot of crud like the social club (which is removed with the latest patch). - a bit buggy at launch. its recieved much love since then though. - limiting your settings to the amount of ram on your GPU (a system which can be easily disabeled). as for LA Noire....if its good ill pick it up.osan0
@osan0 I have the same opinion as you, regarding GTAIV.The game on PC was far,far superior in performance & graphics when compared to the console version...And i also never had any issue with the game regarding bugs or performance...Ofc i couldnt max out the graphic settings but with the settings i had the game looked 10x better than the console version...and the fps where above 45-50 average...So yeah i never understood why people call it a "bad port"...coz in reality is only "a port" a "good port" i might add...
No it isn't. /threadGeneralShowzer
^ This, I don't see the PC mentioned anywhere in the ESRB rating for LA Noire. It clearly states the platforms for the game are the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Now if you are saying the PC was there then obviously it was a mistake on the ESRB's part and they have corrected it.
I wouldn't hold my breath for LA Noire to come to the PC, it is pretty clear that Rockstar no longer has any interest in producing games for the PC. So if you want to play Rockstar games you will have to invest in a console.
i dont understand why everyone feels gta 4 was bad on the pc!!! it played perfectly on my comp and everything was great about that game no complains whatso ever!! i hope LA Noire really comes out for the pc and this better not be a very cruel prank played by some sadistic console loving nutcase :evil:http://www.esrb.org/ratings/synopsis.jsp?Certificate=31003&searchkeyword=

Already have it pre-ordered on the PS3.
I would prefer to play it on the PC, but that's what consoles are for.

I have the same opinion too. I never had any problems with GTAIV ad i thaught it was a great port.
GTA 4 had its graphical glitches in the beginning but it was playable, but now with all the patches out I barely notice any problems.
I dont see it there, oh well. PC isnt going to get every single game. I mean would you trade lets say diablo 3 for this? And if you really want it, the ps3 is a good blu-ray player and has enough games not on pc to be worth looking into.
Did you guys read what I said on my previous post? It was removed, it was probably a mistake. Sorry :?

You might want to edit your original post to reflect the new info and if possible edit the title. I don't create many new topics on here myself so I don't know if you can edit your own title, if not pm a mod and ask for a title change. You have to remember the majority of people don't read every post in a thread, they give the first post a quick read (if you are lucky) and then dive straight in.

No problems here either. So I don't hate Rockstar just yet!

most people complaining are running fraps obsessing over any framerate drops etc... they are also playing on higher settings than they should, saying its a console port so they should be able to run it on any settings they want.[QUOTE="PRowcester"][QUOTE="pelvist"]

Lol. I takes me an average of 10 attempts to get the game to boot and my fps drops to 25 on medium settings. You don't need an fps counter to notice a 25 fps dip..... If you say there are no problems with GTA IV on PC, you are very ignorant.[QUOTE="TerrorRizzing"][QUOTE="PRowcester"]most people complaining are running fraps obsessing over any framerate drops etc... they are also playing on higher settings than they should, saying its a console port so they should be able to run it on any settings they want. This might sound weird, but uninstall fraps completely for a boost. Draw distance should be about 30, detail distance about he same. Traffic density shouldnt be much higher than 50, makes no sense to go higher. Night shadows off.No problems here either. So I don't hate Rockstar just yet!

Actually, I do have gigantic issues with GTA IV, the game runs at an average 25-15 FPS on my rig, and it's not that weak.
[QUOTE="wis3boi"]But you need Windows live if you're on 1.0.4, don't you? No. You can disable Windows Live completely with GTA IV (search GTA IV xliveless on google) which will allow you to use any patch you want without having to sign in GFWL.key to a smooth GTA4:
- run patch 1.0.4
- stop turning the sliders all the way up
- remove Windows LIVE

Yeah, but it feels like forever ;) No one has any interest for it, they need to remind us it comes out via trailers. Or its just me?

You never know, but they chose a pretty bad time to release it, if they delay it further it might get even worse.DanielDustdelaying it further and lacking reminder of it is what the issue is, it feels like it doesnt exist. When it comes out, better not be the x360 version because it was terrible, they got a lot to fix, i hope the delay is hinting that, because if it aint, i wouldnt be suprise if no one buys it and they blame piracy when they didnt even hype or fix the game.

I feel like they're releasing it just for the sake of releasing it, since they promised it would be on Xbox 360/PC.
