Hello. I was wondering if anyone here has aSony KDL52W5500, and if thelag that tv has is bad. Since it's a problem all new tvs have to some extentI'm sure there is some, at least on paper, but is it noticeable? Any feedback regarding the KDL40W5500 would be appriciated. I remeber playing Guitar Heroon a friends TV (can't remember brand or model)and the lag wasF*ucking horrendous, it wasn't just annoying, it was unplayable. I know thisTV(the sony) has game mode that makes things a bit better, but is it good enough?I don't want to pay alot of money and not be satisfied.

For the most part, you can calibrate those games specifically to deal with the lag - look in the options menu! It's not something you'd generally notice unless you're playing a rhythm game, but those do a great job of bringing any video/audio lag to the fore.

edit: also, many TV's have a 'game mode' or something similar that skips all the processing done to the image to reduce the input lag, etc. another note is that i've noticed HDMI is usually worse on audio lag than straight component+stereo.

Plasma will not have any such issues.
