Could you guys help me pick out a laptop? I am weighing the pros and cons of the following models:

1.

2.

3.

4.

The primary usage of the laptop I choose will be music, using software like Guitar Pro and iTunes. I would also use it to watch DVDs, and do a little light gaming (I know, gaming on a laptop = *facepalm*, but I would like to game on the go sometimes, and I already have a dedicated gaming PC). Basically, I want it to be my multimedia hub.

At the moment I am leaning toward the 18 inch Toshiba. Good? Bad? Any better suggestions?

these won't be able to game all that much and besides they seem to be on the heavy side and not that portable. Go to Dell.com and customize the Dell Studio 15 with the ATi HD 4570 you won't be dissapointed trust me!

I don't mind them being heavy; I would prefer having a nice big screen...

1. NVidia 9100M (yuck)

2. Doesn't even specify praphics - probably some Intel integrated chup (double yuck!)

3 and 4. ATI HD 3200. Also Yuck.

Neither of these are designed to play anything other than minesweeper at low frame rates. The machine will be unable to play most current games. And any future games: forget it. Seriously, consider a notebook that has, at the least, graphics that ATTEMPTS to be serious. But hey, that's just my opinion. :)

#4 - Gateway - I like the price, GPU, CPU, and Gateway have some of the best looking displays in the biz. IMO of course.

Ive owned some Gateway Laptops in the past - they tend to have cheaper Case designs - thier Mobos are probably cheaper too - but they tend to spend the xtras on the noticable stuff like Sound/Visual/CPU

i dont think there are many gamingconfigurations out there with amd processors. why dont you try a studio 15 or a basic model of a sony vaio fw490.and honestly many core 2 duos(mobile) are faster than their amd turion and athlon counterparts, atleast in the laptop department intel is the king
