I recently bought a new laptop for myself, I love it and can't get enough of it, my mum wants to buy a new computer for the family, she wants a good price pc with plenty of space for photos. A desktop seems the right choice but should we get another laptop? Any suggestions? I would appreciate suggestions for which ones to get, thank you.

Ok so if it is just going to be a standard family computer you should probably go with a desktop if you have a good place to put it. But if you dont have a good place or your if your family would like to take into each of there rooms or living room etc... you might wanna go with Laptop. Which do you prefer? I will do some research for pricing and where to get it if you like

Correct me if I am wrong. However, can you even update a laptop?

In most cases, no. There are few high-end gaming laptops that support a GPU module that could be swaped but choices are very limited.
