Here are my laptop specs:

GPU: GeForce 660M GTX

CPU: Intel Core i7 3630QM - 2.40ghz

8 gigs of Ram

2 gigs of VRAM

Windows 8 (sadly)

Can I run Bioshock Infinite and The Witcher 2.  I want to be able to run both on Medium settings without the FPS dropping below 30 (at least not more than once, for a second or two during major fights...).  If I can't, will probably grab them for console instead.  I hope I can run Bioshock, I hear that the visuals are significantly better on PC than on PS3, but if I have to play on Low to run it, would probably rather get it for console anyway.

it's really the processor I am worried about more than anything to be honest... what is your CPU? Laptop processors can kind of wimp out on more demanding games

I wouldn't worry about Bioshock Infinite. I play it on my laptop with 4gb RAM, a dual core i5 2.27ghz, and an HD4670 1gb, and I can manage mostly medium, ultra textures, AA on, at 720p, which looks significantly better than the console versions, and I stay above 40 fps for the most part (except for those brief but brutal slowdowns in transition areas that everyone gets, and will hopefully be patched away).

I actually wouldn't be surprised if you could run it close to maxed out, if 30 fps is your target. It's Unreal Engine 3. Probably the best looking UE3 game out there, but the engine is still ancient, and extremely well optimized.

Edit: As for the Witcher 2... that one, I would worry about. It's not very well optimized, and its "minimum specs" are a lie. I meet and/or exceed the "minimum specs", and I can't get more than 12-15 fps, even at bare minimum settings, 800x600 res. I'm sure you would at least be able to run it, but it wouldn't surprise me if you had to go with pretty low settings.

Yeah, that's too bad. But, if you want to try the Witcher anyway, buy it from GOG. No DRM at all. If it doesn't run well enough for you, there's nothing stopping you from just giving the downloaded install files to someone else, who could run it. That's what I did when TW2 wouldn't run at all on my laptop. Just sold it to my roommate and got my $10 back.

And Bioshock is awesome as hell. Get that shit, and enjoy. :D
