Laptops: MSI vs ASUS vs Gateway

So, three laptops i'm considering. Primarily going to be used for school and work, also want to be able to play games occasionally. Not expecting to run Crysis on high at max reso, but some occasional L4D/DoW 2 and the like at decent framerates with decent settings. If anyone owns any of these laptops or has used them at all or if you have a different laptop to suggest, your input is highly appreciated. Basically i'm looking to stay at around $1000 or less.

I own the gateway 7805u and personally I love it.

I play games like Red Alert 3, FallOut 3 and CODWAR.

course you probably have bought it already!

I chose it because its pretty packing for the price. ddr3 pc8500 memory, 7200rpm hd and 1gb vid card.

It runs great too on normal task. the gpu is in the 40s unlike my xps m1530 which is in the 60's on regular tasks.

For a laptop customer service is very important and on that issue alone I honestly can't reccomend Asus or MSI. I'm not going to go into details but dealing with MSI was a nightmare and Asus isn't much better mabey worse since they will find any reason to claim that you voided your warrenty.
