People say the 9800 gt is a rebranded 8800gt, and i can get either for the same price. My question is, which one?Is there any difference at all? is one better than the other? The 9800gt comes with crysis for free, so i'm thinking that, just as long as it's as good if not better.

Your thoughts appreciated.

The 9800GT may technically not be better than the 8800GT. But with the prices looking like that and the newer card coming with a free game, I say it's a no-brainer. If you don't already have that game, jump on that deal.

Ok i am just wanting to make sure the 9800gt is in fact at least as good. One person said it isn't, i'm hoping they just had a fluke card.

They're both the same. I would go for the 9800GT, it's cheaper, has the same specs as the 8800gt, and comes with Crysis.

I own a 9800GT a friend has a 8800GT they're the same. The only difference is the 9800GT supports Tri-SLI while the 8800 doesn't. I've had no issues playing any games with my 9800 including Crysis, Crysis Warhead. Check my profile I've got a hell of a lot of PC games running fine on my card.

they are pretty much the same. But i'd go with 9800gt (which i did) because it performs better then the 8800gt slightly, but with the physx drivers from nvidia, it performs about 15 frames betters in ut3 with hardware physx on with that physx driver. But yeah overall in every other game but ut3, exactly the same.

Oh yeah the temp on the 9800gt is lower too, so keep that in mind, its a 45nm model and the 8800gt is 55 or 65?
