Hey guys, I'm looking to get an LCD monitor that would work with both the 360 and the Wii. The 360 has a few simple options for VGA input, but I figure the best solution for the Wii would be to just find a monitor that has component inputs. I want Zelda widescreen in all its glory and whatnot, so the components are necessary...any ideas?

The only two that come to mind are BenQ FP241W and Dell's 2407. I prefer BenQ because they have 1:1 pixel mapping now.

Well, you could always get a component-VGA transcoder and convert the signal to VGA... but that only works with progressive scan, which can be annoying (unless the Wii's dashboard displays in 480p).

The problem is computer monitors with component inputs are still very expensive. I was looking around for one, and I think the cheapest was one on newegg.com, a 20" widescreen for ~$450. With that price range, you could easily add $200 to get a really nice 27" HDTV, which is what I gladly did of course.

The thing with small and cheap HDTV's is that you don't get very good resolution. For around the same price, you can get a decent LCD monitor. LCD monitors are usually viewed from about 2ft away, and tv's are viewed from 6-8ft away. The monitor will fill your field of vision more, giving you a "bigger" picture and better resolution at the same time. Only downside is that it's not very good for playing with friends when they're over.

So if I got one of those, it would only be beneficial for games like Zelda?
