It suprised me at the level polish in this little title. I picked it up on steam sale because I was curious. Its the best small studio game I think Ive played. It reminds me a little bit of TF2 (critcal hits, class based, a few similar gamemodes) mixed with COD:BiB in 3rd person. There are multiple game types, variants on capture point, team death match, ctf and a bunch of others I havent played in other games.. All the game types seem to fit the maps very well, unlike in MW2 for example where anything but deathmatch is a joke (terrible placing of capture zones).
Each game the player gets rank and XP, which improve their Synergies and health regen. This promotes teamplay because you need to be within a close proximity to receive synergy from another player (think of it like an aura). Synergys include +damage , +armor, +crit chance, +accuracy.
There are 4 ****s each with a different play****and each get a special ability.
trapper - main sniper rifle, pistol sidearm
special - drop 2 bear traps which trap enemy players
+critical chance synergy
Gunslinger - pistol, no sidearm
Special - shoots really fast at the cost of accuracy called fanning
+accuracy synergy (less weapon spread)
Deputy - pump action shotgun, pistol sidearm
special ; can mark enemy players for extra damage and visability called "tagging"(I think)
+damage synergy
Blaster - double barrel shotgun, pistol sidearm
special - dynamite
+armor synergy.
The only negatives I have to say is no VOIP. This is a pretty bad omission in a team based 3rd person shooter.
There is no team scramble option, even after changing maps. If your team was getting crushed on the previous map, they still will after a map change.
^ These can be fixed in future patches. The devs seem quite dedicated to this game and seem to have made a lot of patches.^
And lastly, useless camping snipers.... this is a trait with all online games with sniper rifles though so I have gotten used to it :P
If you dont have this, then buy it on sale!
