Left 4 Dead 2 is Free to Play

Just wanted to give a heads up to anyone that never picked it up and wanted to give it a try. It will be free to play starting tomorrow and through early Monday morning. Here is the info....

Yep i saw this on Steam, too bad i was gifted the game ages ago.

I'm still a member of the left 4 dead 2 boycott, but technically I'm not breaking my oath by playing the game for free for a while so hurrah. But I will forever heart l4d1, francis, louis, zoey...and...gulp....and bill... :cry:

Might as well add in the title "for a weekend"

Was hoping it would go on sale. I'd like to have a couple of copies to gift to people... it might be one of the best, most easy to pick up games to play with friends.

EDIT - Well it's on sale, as of 25/10/2012, 75% off.

Oh... I was hoping free forever.. all well.

It will probably be a weekend deal as well. Maybe 66% to 75% off.

Completely agree. L4D is just shooting bullets into a crowd. No aim or skill is really required. KF actually involves skill/strategy.

seems like everyone on this forum likes a maximum of 3 games, and hates everything else. anyways, game is not bad. inferior to killing floor in many ways, yes, but doesn't detract from the fact that the game is fun and is quite a challenge on the highest difficulties. can't wait to get reamed for liking this game.yellosnolvr

On this forum we love three games so much that we actually hate those 3 games. And all the others? We just intensely dislike.

I've played l4d1 versus, it's boring, and i played about 10 hours worth of that. Far too much.
It's literally:
"Let me camp here and wait to gay you"

If I want to play a mp fps, I'll play one that requires mouse aiming.

Killing Floor is best, especially hell on earth soloing as a sharpshooter. Must be one with the mouse aim and awareness.

I may play some multiplayer this weekend. If I am not too busy drinking, playing War Z or trying out the new Day Z maps. Maybe I'll fit some Counter Strike in there somewhere. Been a while since I've played that.

Just tried it out for the first time. I was surprised to see that my fps is all over the place. I know its not my hardware cause I can run Witcher 2 on high at 40+ fps but this game slow down in some areas. Anyone else have similar problems?

My specs are

I5 3570K

amd 6950 2G

8G ram

I really enjoyed both kf and l4d2. my mates and i used to switch back and forth all the time, depending on our mood. Was super fun. Are people here so 1-dimensional that if they like 1 game, they feel obligated to hate another game or just cant enjoy another? mirgamer
