I would love to see developers focus on some random map generation. Building locations being randomly generated so you aren't playing the same game over and over. I love LFD2, but like most games it loses some of its fun when you know all of the best locations to defend against a zombie mob. I'm sure it would take some serious time and programming that most publishers aren't willing to wait for, but I think that could be the next big step in gaming. It's possible that they haven't done it already because then they wouldn't be as likely to get players interested in new DLC maps, etc. Do you want to sell a million copies of a FPS game with future DLC at $10 to $15 a pop, or ten million copies of a FPS game with random level generation?
The problem with randomly generated maps is that they're usually of much lower quality than premade ones.I would love to see developers focus on some random map generation. Would be nice if you they included some form of branching, where you can choose which route to take (say 1 route is a tunnel, dark but plenty of places to defend from, 2 street level where it's easier to get ambushed but the route is faster, 3 across several bridges and through some parks, open terrain but more zombies attack)
You're right! I for one cannot wait to have to run away from zombies because I've run out of stamina after attacking the torso of a zombie with a broom! Imagine the suits sitting around, designing the game!Dead Island looks like it will correct the flaws of Left 4 Dead.

I wish you can rip a zombie's leg off and beat it with the severed bloody thing. :P

lol how funny would that be and then you could do that Chaplin thing he does with the potatoes on the fork and pretend to walk around using the zombie legs. That would be fun not this **** attempt at realism in a zombie game.now that is something i wish that gabe thought of before he released l4d2My suggestion: make Half Life 3/episode 3 before they make Left for Dead 3!

I highly doubt Left 4 Dead 3 is even going to happen. http://www.hotbloodedgaming.com/2011/05/26/left-4-dead-developers-sign-with-thq-not-valve/
i believe L4D was originally planned to be a Semi Open world game? But they found once players found the quickest and easiest route they wouldn't bother going anywhere else.....walkingdreamWell it only makes since for a game to be open world at all if you are either sent multiple places in it or need room to make tactical decisions... neither of them really fit in L4D's ingredients.

True but i always thought it was a really cool idea. Perhaps they could of set up objectives like generators to turn on the lights, better weapons or something else...perhaps by going the long way you are less likely to have "Hordes" coming at you?
