left 4 dead crashing to desktop

i just got left 4 dead and it keeps crashing within 15 mins of playing usually when there starts to be a lot of zombies and i am running it on maximum settings without any difficulty but then the game just crashes without a messege

Try the graphics settings, then try changing drivers - are all other games working, are you on vistaKaelken

yes the demo was doing it to me as well... no matter what settings i had it on...

but i found that it was a problem with overclocking, my amd i had oc'd 10%, left 4 dead and red alert crashed...  

knocked it from 10% back down to 8%,  clean installed drivers... works like a champ.. max settings 60 frames AA and all at 1680x1050...

so if your overclocking, dial it back a little see if it helps, 

Im not using overclocking (i dont think) and im having the same problem- what do u mean by cleaning the drivers? physically or with a program?

You need to set the left4dead.exe affinity to only 1 cpuGamerkat
