If you're in Australia definitely get it as the fate of L4D2 is in the air to say that least. If not: buy it anyway. You'll get to experience all of the campaign and the maps that aren't in l4d2 obviously.
Ya. FFS. Someone give a good enough explanation as to the pros and cons of getting L4D now. I played it on the free weekend but was very underwhelmed. I felt really let down. I think it was mostly because I was getting real hyped to get it and when I got the free weekend I was like...w...t...f. I wanted more guns, I wanted more challenge, and I wanted a more intense feeling. And I really didnt get it. Not sure why...just how it was. 2 DLCs later tho - Im wondering if its different. If its possible that Id be able to change my mind. I know I changed my mind about TF2. I played that for I bought it and didnt like it...and then a few months later I was desperate for a game...bought it...and love it to death. Dont know what Id do without it. Would that happen with L4D?

To all those who are on the fence the DLC isn't that awesome. It's just another two chapters of city. Wait for L4D2.

Anyone could have told you that. i mean, even the patch notes just say "Added Crash course" the official forums have people screaming that it wasn't that great.
I don't know, being a hard-core gamer, and somebody who just likes to toy with a new game for a while, I feel obligated, almost, to buy this - simply because of the price, and because this game has gotten SO much attention. I'm not exactly jumping with joy though. Who knows, maybe I'll become a convert.

The game is great. Really. But the fun of the game was all within the first 3 months of release. Now it's difficult to get games going and the spirit is all gone.
Also, how many new people will be buying it now that it's on sale for $15? I would think that if you haven't got it, now is the time, since you'll likely meet up with quite a few others who are also new to the game.
There should be a ranking system that matches you up with new people like yourself if you're new.

Very fair point. In that case, maybe I'd go for it. I did get tired of it, but my and my buds came back and getting into games was too difficult for it to be worth the effort. I was actually going to just wait for L4D2 because I thought it came with L4D's content.
as a single player its not so good, but as a multiplayer game (versus) its one of the more funner games i have ever played especially if your using mics and planning attacks
