I would grab a gun or some guns and do what they do in L4D. Luckily i am in America so i can have guns..i couldn't imagine living through a zombie invasion in the UK with only knives.

Head to the nearest army post and help with the defense. If the base is over-run then I'd gather as much weaponry and a vehicle and head to a less populated portion of the Island, maybe even going to one of the smaller islands off of the shore. (No I'm not going to pull a Dawn of the Dead)
I would just go on about my daily business. My country is already overrun by zombies. It's amazing how much a lifeless person can achieve every day, albeit the same things every day.
