Kicked and banned from a server after a guy and his mates voted me off for saying "nice backup while I healed" after he told me to go heal and I was attacked by a smoker. This was less than 1 minute into my game on that PUBLIC server.

Anyone else got any experiences to share? I'll add some more as I go on playing. Already had a bunch of bad ones from a while back but I'll start mines from now.

Yay, second server I joined, once again, voted and banned. The reason? Someone that called the vote said "he sux" and "looser" (notice the spelling mistake only a silly pre-teen can make). What an excellent game so far.

Third server:

S_StartSound: Failed to load sound 'serversgame_ready.wav', file probably missing from disk/repository

Result? Kicked.

Have you checked to see if that file is missing? Or contacted Valve?

A) You are really bad at the game....

or

B) each game you joined is full of idiots....

Ether way, I have never been kicked no matter how bad I was...

I hate playing L4D without friends. I only play with a full house of friends or 2 friends with one pug. If we need to place his sexuality into question and determine it's homosexual we have the 3v1 kick vote.

Just started playing this week, and even after repeatedly telling people Im new , bear with me, its falling on deaf ears 90% of the time. People need to realize this isnt a typical shooter and the learning curve is a little steep at first. Now that I'm starting to get used to it, I love this game...fresh online experience for sure.

Wouldn't the unlabled comment make 'A' redundant?

Everytime I play Left 4 Dead it's the same boring, repetitive experience.

I got kicked and banned from a public server last week because I went upstairs before the survival match had started to look for explosives while everyone else was standing around in the basement, it was on the No Mercy generator room survival level.

I'd been playing on that server since the new content without any problems before so I was pretty annoyed when it happened. The guy who started the vote was using a mic and just kept saying my name over and over like he was disappointed with me and didn't give any reason for why he wanted to kick me. It was incredibly ridiculous.

Might seem harsh, but my friends and I kick people for not having mics or not communicating when you do have one. Seriously, if you're not able to communicate and help out the three of us then most times we're better of with just 3 or a bot.

The only time I was ever kicked was one time immediately after joining. The rest of the people had a clan ID in front of their name, so I assume they were waiting for someone from their group to join and I was occupying his space.

Really? I would think a mute person is still better than a bot. I usually don't even use my mic because of my roommate.

Well that's why I said "most times" :P. If they know what they're doing and listen we make exceptions now and then.

wow, i cant believe those people kicked and banned you just for that. It's very childish to kick and ban someone for a social reason if you ask me unless it REALLY offends the server. Saying "Nice backup while I healed" is something I say everyday to my team mates XD.

Playing with pubbers in L4D is the singlemost painful gaming experience i've ever had. It seems like 90% of the time it's a train wreck. The only thing that makes it bearable is that most of the time the other team is just as bad and sometimesthey're even worse. And the other 10% of the time it actually goes fairly well. It amazes me just how bad the average L4D player is. Maybe I just have really bad luck with teammates.

It's not just you. It's uncommon for me and 3 of my friends to be on at the same time, so it's mostly just 3 of us and a random pubber. And man, some of them are truly god awful. If you play versus - you *need* a microphone. And if they make mistakes, they're getting the boot. More often than not it seems to turn out the random terrible pubbers we play with always get the tanks and completely waste them.

I get kicked out like 7 out of 10 times in survival and the rest of the times others leave after one round. A lot is down to the matchmaking or whatever it's called, usually I use the Steam Group servers so I see the ping, mode, players etc. and never had problems with those, but since they're not running Survival for some reason I have to use automated search. And it always puts me on american server with a huge ping. Usually at this point I get kicked due to high ping or no mic(presumably).

And the players themselves when I'm lucky enough to get the game going ..it's like the horror stories you hear from wow or halo... they're either immature brats or elitist pricks losing their temper because they were the first to die and apprently it's everyone elses fault but theirs. At the start L4D was just good fun and mistakes were laughed at, now people are taking it way too seriously, which I suppose happens to most online communities over time, didn't think it would be this soon tho.

I joined server where the host started to curse and shout at me for switching from the Uzi to the M16. Then after he had spammed the mic for about ten minutes he kicked me. You will always find morons while playing online.
