I have always enjoyed games that were way to complex. I play alot of garry's mod and i also got into starknights, though i don't like multiplayer.

But latly i have been curious about civilization, and was wondering what your take on it was.

I only played Civ4. I don't like the "kiddy" design, other than that, it's cool.

Europa Universalis 3 is the epitome of complicated gaming IMO:P

what about some good ol fashioned risk. I wouldnt mind trying it, im just not sure about turn based games. I have mixed fealings about that. some of the turn based games are fantastic and others are horible just because they are turn based.

edit

Realy im just looking for somthing to obsess over since im off 4 days a week with nothing to do and no one to do it with cus im off monday - thursday

Well I certainly prefer the RTS genre because of how complex it is. MMORTS, although for the most part neglected in the recent past, is the pinnacle of complexity. There are some new titles coming out, like SAGA, Beyond Protocol, Fragmented Galaxy, and I believe Angels Fall First. Though, if you don't like multiplayer, that could be a problem. People are often what make any game most complex. AI is good, I liked Stalker because of it's AI, but it still can't beat a human player as far as I'm concerned.

Thats true. i just wont get to play multiplayer that much durring the week as well as the instability of my connection wont allow it all that well. I dont care for star knights multi player specificly because the turns are so far apart some times. i love that game, if only they had ai.

I realy love to build things like in gmod, starknights, sims, and the up coming spore. but i have burned myself out on the ones i have :(

Deus Ex is easy to play, unlike the other titles. I thought about it too, but it'snot THAT complicated.

Now, System Shock 2... damn.

Civilization 1, I played that game so much back in the day, I knew it inside and out. I practically had the technology chart memorized. Great great game.

I played civ 2 for a week, but I didn't actually own it, I was just borrowing it.

Civ 3 I bought years later and played it for a few weeks. I got bored of it after a while for some reason. Perhaps it was too hard. Not sure.

Never played 4.

Deus ex I wouldd't say it's easy but it isn't hard. but the story is probably the most complicated story I've seen in the gaming industry

And one of the most plausible, I think. It's a masterpiece.

sins of a solar empire kept me ocupied for a while. it was complex without being combersom. some complex games seem to have to many steps to envolve your self in that arnt that entertaining. so each turn you just sigh because it becomes a job. others on the other hand are alot of fun with each step.

what about games that have an infasis on expantion and territory.

Perhaps you should apply on a gaming industry and design a complex game full of riddles and mazes.

what i loved about starknights was expanding my empire but also i loved seeking out all the many raw resorces and making the manufactured resorces like aluminum and steel then making with that verious useful stuff like a ships shield or buildings on planets weapons ect.

bioshock was realy cool but thats abit off topic.

Total war was cool but i always had way more fun with the strategic map than i did in any of the battles. thanks for the imput guys

That isn't a complicated game :)

Lords of the Realm 2. That is a cross between a turn based city managing game and a real time strategy. You have to manage your towns, keep your population healthy and supplied with food. You have to have your townspeople get wood, iron, stone, etc and build weapons, castles, and stuff. And then when you get into a battle, that's where the real time strategy aspect kicks in. A very fun game. I still even play it from time to time to this day despite it's age (it's pretty old). It will run on XP by the way.

The Total War series is pretty complicated once you get into it.
