Hi guys,

I currently have a 22inch Lg LCD M228WD TV/Monitor. I have my pc hooked up to the monitor via vga running at the max resolution 1680 x 1050. Now i know this monitor supports 1080p via HDMI because i have had my ps3 hooked up to it previously. The problem is when ever i try HDMI through my 4870 x2 or my prev 9800 gx2 the colour doesnt look so good and at 1080p the desktop gets squashed and has jaggies around it with small black borders on the left and right side.

I want to know why theres not enough colour through HDMI and why the picture looks so bad at 1080p?

Also when im running it through vga ATI reports i have a max resolution 1920 x 1080 (1080p basiclly) but whenever i try switching to that it always reverts back to 1680 x 1050?

Also last thing when i tried HDMI through my 4870 x2 there was no sound?

Thank you for your help dudes! and dudettes!

I don't know about the rest of your problem, but I have a 4870, and in the manual it says that you can connect the HDMI adapter through the first DVI port only.

You are saying that you ran 1080p on LCD that supports max 1680x1050? Are you sure that your PS3 didn't run at 720p? I guess it downscaled it. But your LCD does not support full 1920x1080p so i think thats where the problem is.

Actually its pretty good for a 22inch looked great runnig the ps3 at 1080p. Problem is the max via the vga port is 1680 x 1050. Where as if you use HDMI it goes upto 1080p. Strange but hey it think ill stick to 1680 x 1050 for now as the picture through HDMI on the graphics card is abmissmal.
