I used to be very into the sims games even played the sims online..i like to interact with real people in a virtual world. i havent played one for a long long time now and was wondering if they released any new games that sound like what i'm looking for?
Wish I could help. All I can say is Sims 2. If you can find an MMO that has a capitalist economy (no dev interference) then that would get really close to a "life simulator." Such as old SWG.

Hmm, Oblivion, in a sick and twisted way, could be a "life" simulator. You can buy houses or even download user made towns and houses. I used to pretend in Morrowind that my character owned a user made castle and I would lay my crap around it like trophies.
