whats the difference between DDR and DDR2? I was wondering which ones better, as i have been hearing that there is a performance difference.

DDR2 is newer (and is capable of faster speeds), thats about all I know.

DDR is only 184 pin and the DDR2 is 240 pin connection.  DDR 2 can be twice as fast as any DDR RAM.  DDR2 will not fit in a motherboard that was designed for DDR.
