ugh, so i got this new router recently, and its giving me so much trouble. I got to work at first on initial installation, and i was able to connect wirelessly to the internet from the computer, and from my Ps3. However, just last night, i "accidentally" unplugged my router, so of course, i temporiarily lost my connection. I tried plugging it back in, and everything on the router read that it was okay. I check Network Options in the control panel, and it said that there was nothing wrong, and that the LAN was connected. So, with that, i tried accessing the internet... except it wouldn't work. I tried everything, i turned off the computer, turned off the router, the modem, and i tried replugging everything in, and rebooting it. Still didnt work. Just to make sure that it was the router, which was causing the problems, i pull out the internet cable connected into the router via the modem, and stuck it back into the computer. After that, i attempted to access the internet... and it worked. So, i know for sure that there is nothing wrong with my modem, or internet connection... there is something wrong with the router. I tried troubleshooting.. i didnt get very far. PLZ plz plz i really need help :*(. Anything would be appreciated, thanks

I dont know if this helps you or not but I have the Linksys WRT600N wireless router and every time I loose power or unplug the router I have to go back in and reset my security code in order for my computer to see it, some how it defaults the security of it everytime there is a power loss

Give your ISP (internet service provider) a call. They might have something wrong on their side regarding your router. Have the MAC address of it handy.

when the power is diconected from my router in any way it looses its security code, depending on what type of security you put on it it could be a 26 digit code or I believe 6 digit, when you installed your router it should have installed a program onto your computer under the start menu. I have to go into that program and click on the add computer area and then it will go through the security code page and walk me through changing everything.. not really sure how to explain it I have only had to do it twice myself

Yes if it's been disconnected long enough, you have to reconfigure the router completly. The best is to save the settings using the configuration tool and to restore them everytime it happens.

I see... your provider has saved your computer MAC address and they won't give access to anything that has a MAC address other than your comp.

You can call them and ask them to reset it.
Or ask your router to simulate your computer MAC address (not sure your linksys can do it)
Or just wait a couple of hours, it'll reset by himself.
