Not crazy mate. I played it back when it came out, as did all my friends how owned a PC. Truly a classic! And still holds up after all these years

Phew... Im gald to hear that.
I never played the original, would anyone recomend it? is it much like the second?
I love LBA series, and i too hope they will one day return. (not likely)
As for recomendnig LBA1...
Well they are fairly similar games. I like LBA1 more, but it may be just for nostalgia reasons.
LBA1 seems to be more difficult - both for arcade elements and puzzles - but hey, I was a kid when i played it for the first time. On the other hand there is no protection spell in LBA1 that makes LBA2 so trivial. Also, there are only two weapons in LBA1 (save for fists) so there is more space for puzzle items (also there is no portable telly - you must relly on stationary TV at some fhouses to watch vids again, and no plate for scaning images - an utter garbage and space-filler).
Graphically games are on fairly same level imho. LBA1 is viewed all the time from the very same perspective LBA2 has only inside builings. LBA1 graphics seems a bit in less detailed.
LBA1 music and sound effects are inferior, but not badly. The best tunes are there,
In LBA1 there is actual use for discreet mode, save for magic ball aiming. In LBA1 mecha-penquins are very usefull.
The secrets in LBA1 are smaller but much more clever - in LBA2 non neccesary places and actions seemed more forced.
One really hated feature of LBA1 - if you hit anything while running, you lose health. Can be irritating. There is also some wierd auto-save system rather than normal load/save procedure, and some people don't like, but i am ok with it.
LBA1 story and general feel seems better for me, but it can be only a metter of prefrence. The games are roughly equal and really worth playing.
