Apparently, they use 3 speakers in each ear plus a deflector plate (in each ear) to reverberate the sound of 7 speakers. Supposedly they work really well for gaming and suitably well for music. I mean, you will never get the same quality of musical sound from a Logitech headset as you would from a Klispch, M-Audio, or Sennheiser headset...

The largest reason why this particular headset won't be good for music is because it uses a built in sound card. The built-in sound card is far from quality(what do you expect for about $100?), and you can't switch it to use onboard or the sound card in your rig. Also the drivers in the headset are probably somewhat low grade because they need much more than 2. I suppose it's fine for gaming where you aren't looking for high quality, but I would say pass this if you going to listen to music with it.I use them and love them. So far they are the best headphones I have owned and have done the best job at keeping outside noise at bay. 10x better than my Razer headset.millerlight89
I just got my pair today. I love them except for one little oddity: the right ear seems to have slightly louder sound when the surround sound mode is turned off. Just a tiny bit. The mic cup (left ear cup) doesn't sound messed up, just a teeny bit lower than that more dominant sounding right side. Or, maybe I am just being OCD again? When surround is on, both ear cups sound fantastic.
Edit: I just started playing Pink Floyd's Remastered version of Dark Side and the music sounds balanced. I guess it was just crappy sound from Counter Strike Source or something...:D
