Anyone think that at the rate that Riot is releasing champions, the price of each champion, and the state of the game as it is, -- will LoL become so bloated with content that it will collapse on itself?

I see new champions popping up all the time, and it got me thinking...

I haven't play LoL in so long (last new champ that came out when I played was the Tree man) but yeah I have been seeing all the new champs and it's pretty crazy. I think it's a new champ every two weeks though I could be wrong about that. Anyway I'm sure they will hit a point where no more will be made.

The main issue with releasing a new hero every 2 weeks is keeping the heroes as balanced as possible. Which is a huge problem with every Dota clone. MMO's have a hard enough time keeping just a few classes balanced.

One of the main issues I see besides balancing issues is the fact that once there are 100+ champions, the game will be so swamped with heroes of differing abilities it will be pretty difficult to figure out how to counter each one, how to effectively play the few you've chosen in conjunction with others, etc.

I'm not saying HoN is better, but I find that its hero selection might be a bit more stable. At least, they don't release a new champ every 2 weeks like LoL does. Then again, a new champion frequently keeps the game fresh.

So it's up for a lot of debate. Thoughts?

Well I'm not bothered by it but I do think they could chill a bit with the new champions and focus on getting the new map released instead.

I actually think it keeps the game fresh when there's so many champions that not everyone knows exactly how to counter you.

DotA has like 100+ heroes at this point so LoL still has a long way to go to feel bloated. If the devs have a good idea for a champ I dont see why they shouldnt make it. As for the too many heores to learn argument. LoL is not easy, and its not supposed to be easy. Its a competative moba.

it will be impossible to make the game balanced if they will continue to release new champs OR if you apply some math to this game/hero releases strategy they will end up with "abolute reduction to 1" rule - which means all heroes will have "1" for each attribute....

Every 2 weeks is fine IMO. Keeps the game fresh.
