So I'm in the market for a new laptop, since my current one is starting to show its age. (Integrated DX9 graphics FTL) I made a preliminary choice here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834127001 It looks like a good mid-range laptop, but I was wondering if there's anything similar out there I can get for slightly less. My requirements are: - At least a C2D processor - Windows 7 - Dedicated graphics that will at least play videos well and possibly some light gaming (CS:S, maybe TF2) - 15.6" screen or smaller - Other specs don't matter If anyone can come up with something better for about the same price or less, please tell me. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip, but that looks a little out-dated for my tastes. I found another one, though, which seems better. Am I right? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834157046

It's the top end of your budget but I think worth the money for sureToshiba Satellite A505-S6020; comes with an i5 CPU and nVidia 310M.

Whilst there's currently no image available on newegg, I was able to find this video which is pretty in depth.

Best laptop for less than $800:

HP Pavilion DV6-2144NR

Best laptop for less than $900:

ASUS X83VP-A1

(Comes with the same GPU, but the processor is miles ahead of the Turion II listed above)

Best laptop for less than $1,000:

ASUS N61JQ-X1

(It's over budget, but the processor is ridiculously fast compared to the mobile C2 listed above. I'd recommend this if you're into RTS's and such)

Best laptop for less than $1,100.

ASUS G51Vx-X3A

(I'm just keeping this option if you require a beefier GPU. The laptop sports a GTX260m which is quite a bit faster than the Mobility 4650 in the above laptops. I wouldn't be surprised if it could handle Crysis with a mix of med/high settings)

It has a slow CPU and a mediocre video card. I'd only suggest it if the OP requires an ultra-portable.

I would suggest maybe something with a ATI 4650m or a GT 240m Though I dont have experience with the 240m.

It's around the same performance level of the 4570 which the OP was originally interested in. T'will handle source games absolutely no problem, and you get a beefier processor to boot. Just my opinion anywho.
