Basically, I want an equalizer, the on-board card has all the ports but there is no equalizer! The headset has multiple speakers in each headphone, and I can adjust each one. Would installing a sound card with an equalizer significantly increase the audio sound for games and music? Or, am I just waisting my time? lol Thank you for any Feedback

ASUS Xonar DG. Also you should get a proper pair of headphones and not trashy 5.1 headphones.

A sound card would not significantly increase the audio sound for games and music in your situation. A good headphone would significantly increase the audio sound. If you hear a lot of background noise from the motherboard, then a Xonar DG would lower that noise.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874104203&cm_re=tritton-_-74-104-203-_-Product I would amuse these are sufficient headphones? They sound rather amazing in games. Just not so dominant on music. I understand they are not made for music.

Oh gawd Madcatz finally put their name on it. Now it has a proper name for its trashy quality. I have the AX360s, revision just before that one.

Headphones aren't "made" for movies, games, or music. They're made to achieve a certain sound. Like clear highs and mids, or bass heavy. Buying speakers or headphones aimed at a certain genre such as games or movies is kinda a waste. Anything that costs more than 50 bucks will excel in every area really. A sound card will still increase sound but from Trittons its best to use that amp it came with. The Xonar DG or any other ASUS card should have a digital out with Dolby Digital Live for your decoder box.
