Stalker: Clear Sky Run it in DX10, max things out and see how it goes. I can mostly run this game in high with my computer - my GPUs are a bit dated, but they still get the work done that I need.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky and World in Conflict are the best examples I can think of.
If you're not wanting the full games, there are benchmark versions of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, X3: Terran Conflict, and Call of Juarez: BiB you can download as well.
Company of Heroes :) You will need one hell of a monster machine to run it maxed out!

I can run dawn of war 2 maxed (well... excluding ridiculous AA) and my rig is rather budget spec'd (i7 920, 6 gigs ram, gtx 260) and DoW2 is more beefy in comparison to the build used in CoH.
Actually Titan Quest holds up well today as well.. may want to check that out.

No you do not need a monster to run that game maxed. I maxed it with my 8800GTX back in the day. Not saying that card wasn't a monster, but by today's standards hardly.
