Seriously. I have a craving for this.
A game like Sacrifice, with good gameplay, campaign, ETC. That has a map/level
maker. User-friendly.

Obviously not like Sacrifice, but Half-Life 1 and 2 have excellent map editing tools. One of the best in the business I'd say.Doom_HellKnightI would tend to disagree.
However, Hammer is one of the relatively easiest map editing tools around.. Compared to, for example, UnrealED.Â

UnrealED isn't exactly hard to use though. UnrealED is probably one of the best, if not the best editor around. At least out of the ones I've worked with.

I agree with that, pluse there are quite a few websites that support UnrealED among them being 3dbuzz.com which has loads of tutorials. The big difference though is Sacrifice is a RTS and UnrealED is geared toward FPS type of games though people have modded it into racing games among others. Â
For FPS games I think unrealEd is the easiest one to use, but that doesn't make it less capable of creating killer maps however.BounceDK
It's not that easy :) it has the most polished set of tools I've ever seen from an editor and you're right the stuff you can do with it is out of this world. Â

I think it's quite easy to use, but I've also used it since the very first Unreal game ;) I also remember my first map (sp) - You start in a huge cave and have to fight your way out of that. After you've gotten out you had to pull a lever next to a trapped bunny in a cage. Once pulled a pair of spikes nailed the bunny and blood was all over the place, then the secret underground door opened. You jumped in, had to fight a few fish before coming to the next area. In there I had a few player triggered events: 1st spot a piece of wood would break in 5 (5!) pieces and fall to the ground and play a very loud bang so the player would get a shock. 2nd room I had 3 or 6 holes where spiders would poor out, and if they actually did manage to survive, they could go into the disco bar where all the monsters were dancing to music & 70's light shows .. Ahhh the memories :)Please Log In to post.
