look no further than age of empires 2 the conquerors, by far my favorite game ever, although i havent really played it online since the msn gaming zone days, now its more of a lan game
although if you are looking for a strictly online game i would recomend Company of Heroes, its a fantastic game
if you dislike ww2 themed games (mainly because medal of honor has brutalised its novelty SO BAD) then i highly recommend warhammer 40k: dawn of war 2.
company of heroes is the best out there IMO. I normally do not like RTS games, but I am hooked on it. Unlike most people, I like Command and conquer 3 better than generals.
That said I was bored with Dawn of war 2 pretty fast during beta. I like the game, but I could not find myself playing it again after a while.
I can't recommend Dawn of War II enough. It sounds like the fast-paced experience you tend to enjoy, and I never tire of it. Conversely, I have just started playing Battleforge; I think it's great, and because online play is its main focus, it may be up your alley. Sins of a Solar Empire is amazing, but it strikes me that you may prefer something a bit more lively, and Sins games can drag on for a bit. Once Demigod's issues are ironed out, you may want to see what it has to offer as well.
World in Conflict would be my favorite, i find the multiplayer mode incredible addictive, and the single campaign mode is amazing too.tiiaan^^Agree WIC is the best online multiplayer RTT game out there. Most addictive and takes the most amount of teamwork/skill to be successful. Fast paced action that never gets old. I had to cut myself off because I was playing to much. However, the single player mode sucks azz and is simply made for online multiplayer action. Get World in Conflict you will not regret it.
yea, world in conflict is not only the best online rts i've ever played, but the best online game i've ever played period. its just a masterpiece of cat and mouse gameplay; honestly nothing feels better than dropping a huge conventional bomb over a massive buildup of enemy armor and watching the results. I lost the cd key, and for this i will never forgive myself.
