So I've had my rig for about a year now and was looking to upgrade some stuff. I currently have an intel core 2 duo E8500. I'm just wondering what you guys think. Should I pick up an AMD? I really don't know what to look for...

It depends, A what is your budget. B, are you willing to upgrade/change your motherboard?

Don't see the need to change that CPU.My E8400 is still holding pretty well.

You could always invest in a really good cooling system. The e8500 will give you more than enough power for now, especially if you overclock it. And you'll likely want to keep the cooling system for your next build once you see the results...
