Looking for a new FPS, please recommend!

Been playing the Call of Duty series for years now and it's getting a little old for me. I'm upgrading my computer in a few weeks that will allow me to max out many of the games out currently and coming out in the future with great lagless performance.

Here's some of the games I'm interested in so some of you can get an idea of what I'm looking for (but generally, I like all first person shooters).

F.E.A.R

S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Battlefield 2142 

Half Life (1 and/or 2...I've only actually played one demo of Half Life 2 and I thought it was pretty cool. I thought about picking this game up, but I heard that I should just wait until the Black Box arrives). 

Recommend a game from either this list or something else. Also, I'm probably interested in all types of shooters so I'm not just limited to FPS titles. Far Cry looked fun too.  

Chronicles of Riddick

Half-Life 1 and 2 are the best First Person Shooters around, so you can't go wrong if you get those. Plus, you also get all of those mods to get even more out of the game.

I was thinking about battlefield 2 also, but STALKER looks really really fun.Skullheart

Is STALKER really as bad as some people say it is, though? They say it's very buggy, and the weapons (or starter weapons) are inaccurate. It looks like a cool game.

But as far as multiplayer goes, I'm getting really bored with Call of Duty 2. Should I pick up Battlefield 2 in that case?

What's in my imagination now: 

- Check Halo 2, despite the fact that needs Vista, it's a good game. The thing I like most of this game is that you can grab 2 guns and shoot them as you wish, and you can combine them.

- Oh dear, I'm just sayi....

Well, after this break, Just like some of them say I suggest you playing Call of Duty 2, quite funny. Also S.T.A.L.K.E.R., it's very funny, but you must be patience, the game is not easy (well, for me it was, but who knows...).

If you want multiplayer, I would suggest you Battlefield 2142, because of it's battle mechs, and the orbital strike... it's so beautifull the sound of an orbital strike...

You know, I really would prefer something that has an out-of-this-world multiplayer. Should I pick up Battlefield 2 AND 2142 do you think?

BF2142 is just like a mod for BF2 and BF2 is starting to get loads of mods, so I don't think that you need it. 

Ya Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is a really good game. I've got to play it and WOW, its awesome. I don't even like team games that much but this is the first game that I like to be with a team.

 You should definitely get it when it comes out. It beats BF2, and BF2142 by a mile. I've played those and got bored quick. 

If you like real nowadays combat, get BF2, but I don't see anything wrong with BF2142, it's almost the same as BF2, like other have said.

Also Enemy Territory: Quake Wars it could be a really good game, but I prefer to wait, and see how it performs speaking in matters of gameplay, and which types of game will it have. 

 Ive been playing F.E.A.R and I think it's pretty good......

all FPSs that i've played were good - you can try demos of those games you've listed and just choose whatever most fun for you - F.E.A.R. is a creepy game that will make you shiver, it has good graphics with good effects and a slo mo - the enemys' AI is pretty good - story is good/ok - overall a good game - the multiplayer is free to download and it's great.

HL2 is great game - great story, good graphics, great gameplay - simply great

BF2142 is fun futuristic multiplayer only game - graphics are good, Titan mode Rocks -  you can enter a mech, tank, all kinds of vehicles - a hovering helicopter - it's basically conquer FPS game - it's the most unrecommended game from your list

S.A.L.K.E.R. - good story, awesome atmosphere, good graphics - this game is a think before you shoot - you don't jump infront of enemies and shoot them - if you'll do that you're 90% dead, it doesn't have CS/F.E.A.R. gameplay which is run and shoot - but it's pretty fun - if you know russian i'm sure you'll love the jokes arround the bonefire of the stalkers - the game have couple different endings - the ending will be depended on the missions that you'll do - pretty unique game

also a game that isn't from your list - i would recommend on Call of Juarez - a great "the Wild West" FPS game - great graphics, great story - during the story you'll switch between 2 characters - you'll play and you'll know where was/what done every character at the same time - pretty cool, multiplayer is fun - i don't know if it already came to USA but i think it'll come next month
