Hello all I'm currently looking for a new game to play and I don't really know what to try. My favorite genres go 1. RPGs 2. Strategy 3. FPS. I'm a huge alt + tab person as I like to chat with friends on messengers inbetween playing so a game where I could find some time to do that without getting myself killed or if playing with others be a burden on them for lack of attention, also I would prefer that the game has a fun single player mode and a nice story I could immerse myself in would be a plus.
Though I list FPS as my #3 favorite genre it's mainly due to I will play those type of games but I usually don't seem to enjoy them unless they have a good multiplayer, though if it had a great story to follow I could get into it =) also I'm not great with computers and I know only basic stuff but my computer is a dual core Pentium D, 2 GB ram, a 7800 GeForce GT 256 MB g-card so I hope this info is good enough for some suggestions, thanks =D
1. Oblivion 2. C+C3/SC2 3. Orange Box I'd get orange box because it is 6 games I think (if you include peggle extreme :P) including HL2 (one of the greatest fps ever made) and Episode 1+2, TF2 and Portal. Really is worth every penny.
Your rig is solid, you can play almost any game out there with high quality settings. I'm not an RPG player much but if you want recommendations for Strategy I'd go with Company of Heroes, it has a solid single-player campaign and the multi-player mode is very good. You'll play it for hours and hours before you get bored.
The Orange Box is awesome. It's the best bang for your buck too. Call of Duty 4 is amazing and comes out soon, as well as Crysis, and Unreal Tournament 3. If you have an Xbox 360 as well, you should wait and get Mass Effect, I have a feeling that is going to be the best game of the year.
oblivion is a good RPG, also fable, but its kinda short. I really also recommend the orange box, its the best 50 dollar investment ever! You said you want relaxed games and although the orange box games are FPS, portal is more of a puzzle game and its so good that I would have paid 30-40 dollars for it on its own :) all great games, although I played oblivion a while ago and now I have no interest to play again although I never finished the main quest, oh well.
If you haven't played either of the Baldur's Gate games yet, I'd highly recommend that you would try them out. Probably the greatest rpg experience ever.
