It's not even an 8-bit panel. I would recommend against it. It's a 6-bit panel that uses dithering. You won't get the best color out of it that you could easily find in other monitors that are rated for displaying 16.7 million colors.

I picked one of the X20WG monitors about a month ago and the picture/colors are nice and crisp @1680x1050rez. I've put it side by side to my 20 inch viewsonic crt monitor and it's pretty freaking close to the same color saturation and sharpness.
