Hey all, been looking for a decent RTS with a more modern take to it. Gotten sick of all the WW2/Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Futuristic RTS and am looking for something new, don't really care about graphics to much though I'd prefer something from this century.

Loved Act of War: High Treason but since putting on Vista x64 it sold me out and refuses to let me play with it anymore. World in Conflict got old real quick and Supreme Ruler 2020 is way to buggy and poorly built to really enjoy. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Act of War is about as modern as you'll find it, I'm sure there's a way to get it running on Vista 64. World in Conflict is the second closest.......although not as modern. There's really not much out there, unless you want to go to TBS.

If it's good I'll play a TBS, always loved Gal Civ 2 and the Civilization series so if you have a suggestion I'll look into it.

Medieval II: Total War.

EDIT: Oh, wait, I thought you meant modern technically, not setting-wise.

Civilization 4 is a good stone to modern age TBS.

Yeah, Joint Task Force is what I was going to suggest as well, though it's a little strange compared to most RTS games.

Command & Conquer: Generals

-an interesting game that does credit the C&C brand despite not being one of its more popular iterations. The conflict and factions (The US, China, and the Global Liberation Army aka terrorists) have a modern (I'd say it looks maybe 20-30 years forward), if sensationalist and stereotypical bent to them.
