If you want PvP so badly, perhaps play an MMO oriented towards PvP like the newer Darkfall. I think arena PvP is garb (why not play a game that isn't balanced in favor of the person who has less of a life?), but Eve Online and Darkfall actually put PvP into an MMO context rather than it trying to present some sort of bullcrap illusion of balanced PvP simply by forcing players to fight in an arena-like environment.KHAndAnimeYou are saying what I have realised with each mmo passing. I don't want the same ole same ole. And no, I will never do eve again. It's good but if you are gonna do a space game make it twitch based. And I want to fly all aspects of my craft. I want to land inside a station. Not just "appear" there. But I will check out darkfall. Is it out? Nvm by the time you answer that I will already know my answer.
Darkfall Unholy Wars is terrible, good luck with that. You can try it if you want to risk losing $40....and to top it off there is a monthly sub.
What you want does not exist, not since Warhammer Online which was the last real mainstream MMO designed primarily for pvp. But you can try Darkfall, there are people who like it, I think they are on drugs but they like it.Â
There hasn't been a good MMO released since World of Warcraft. The very old MMOS such as Meridian 59 and UltimaOnline had decent PVP, where character deaths had some significance (all your gear dropped). And players who player killed received notoriety. There were town and guild wars and sabotages on opposing enemy guilds keeps (by attempting to sneak in undetected). Players acquired reputations (good or bad) depending on their actions in the game. If you were found player killing innocent players you wouldn't exactly have a very good reputation among the rest of the non-player killing player base and you could even be hunted down by other players for a bounty.
What happened in the end was that the casual market disliked the repercussions of real pvp. And so the developers reformed their games from "wild west" esque MMOs into more hand holding/ linear and organized MMOs (Everquest). There's no real PVP MMOs out there anymore, they're mostly all mindless action games with Arena systems where players respawn after thirty seconds and run straight back into combat like brainless idiots.
Then you should stick with Guild Wars 2, it has nearly as good PVP Â for an MMO, go play RTS games like StarCraft 2 or try MOBA games, they have so far best PVP,...

I think the problem is that no MMO has PVP as it's main focus. Â MMOs always focus mainly on PVE no matter what they say.
The other problem is when characters have different mechanics it's impossible to have completely balanced classes. Â There will always be a class that is stronger than the others or a combination of classes that make up a stronger team. Â They could make the balance much closer if the focus was mainly on PVP and not PVE. Â But, none of the MMOs that I have played done that.
I've played all the games you listed including dozens more and never have found a good balanced MMO PVP game at any time. Â I also never found a game that the main focus was on PVP.
I'm still waiting for an MMO that would do it. Â Tired of seeing new MMOs come out that have 3-4 battle grounds. Â They can make giant zones that takes hours to run across but, they can't make more than a few battle grounds? Â It doesn't have to have different objectives just different environments. Â It never happens because PVP is always a last minute add-on.

FPS MMOs are different. Â I'm talking about WOW type MMOs.
Plenty of MMO's do, they just aren't super popular.I think the problem is that no MMO has PVP as it's main focus. Â MMOs always focus mainly on PVE no matter what they say.

Not really, I learnt the ropes of the game and pvp pretty quick. I don't think Tera is that great of a game, though.[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"]gw2 pvp so bad[QUOTE="Assimilat0r"]

My advice: forget MMOs until then. MMOs these days either want to be too WoW-like or too niche, and the fun of PvP suffers on both sides of the coin. The game-in-development is being designed by some of the folks who made, arguably. the best PvP in an MMO to date... and that is a winning argument.

Thanks. I will watch that one. The thing is. Even for bad balancing. Wow had fun pvp. Whereas guild wars had a flat gear progression. It was great. It's problem is that there is no new maps. I don't like running the same thing over and over. I would gladly go back to guild wars for now if they actually added some new content. I been getting more and more into LoL this weekend. And found my favorite top, bottom toons. I just don't have a mid or carry. Anyways thanks again. What you want does not yet exist... but thankfully it is in development, and you're going to have to wait about two more years for beta... possibly longer. [QUOTE="MBirdy88"][QUOTE="AzatiS"]Its hard to find the super epic PVP you looking for if you didnt find it in GW2 which is an extend of DAOC in short. I dont even know what you looking for anymore. Large scale battles? Battlegrounds? 1v1? 5v5 arena wow style? Open world pvp? What on earth you didnt find in all those games you mentioned? Btw , the only game it interests me right now as of both pve and pvp because it looks and plays awesome is Blade and Soul. Its brings action to a whole new level. As for pve , Wildstar i think will be the next big thing with Lineage Eternal close second.vscott453Hes looking for a game that doesn't exist. a MMO RPG where instead of stats and time, your "skill" is far more important" ... not really a reality or a DEMAND of the RPG genre and tbh the kids NAGGING for it are irritating me. Tera is a prime example "oh wow its like god of war" ... oh right so its crap. First off I am 30 years old. Can i not like what I like but ask the community if there are any? Are you that much of a douche to say people wanting good balance in an mmo to rpg setting? I asked kindly. I didn't call anyone names. I didn't insult anyone. I am looking for an honest answer from someone. I bitch, troll, talk crap, etc in comments. But in my posts I at least expect others to stay kind seeing as my tone never degraded our fellow gamers. RPG's are about stats and roles. if you take those away its a damn hack n slash. there are already pleanty of those. and balance is boring as a hell, a game completely balanced is a bland experiance because that is the only way to make "balanced" no quirks, no roles, no fun. MMORPG = RPG. its that simple. pleanty of arena games for you to go play.
Â
DOAC unchained, just like any other current MMO with hotkey combat that will do the same thing the previous one did, even if it was the best PvP in MMOs it wasn't THAT good compared to genres more suited to competitive PvP play. hell it didn't even stand the test of time.

MMORPG = RPG. its that simple. pleanty of arena games for you to go play. It's not about taking away as it is with just making all playstyles viable in their role situation. If I am a mage and you are a rogue. I should have equal to the number of ways I can kill you and you can kill me. Which can be done now. The problem is the failed balance in risk versus rewards, and the disadvantage one may have. I don't think guild wars 2 is bland at all when itself levels the playing field with stats. The problem lies with no company wanting to put out a pure pvp game that can really fix what I am asking. Or even if any game out now will take the time to balance 2 different skills (pve and pvp variants) this can work. I understand that there is now other games out there that aren't mmorpg that does this. And I really been getting more and more into LoL. I actually have all my champs i want to start off with. Anyways, its just depressing as a gamer to love mmorpgs so much but can't make the most of it because of pvp limitations and "we focus more on pve" attitude.Â
