Hi,

I am looking for a  old mech game, that was played over the internet. One could join a faction, buy a mech and choose a mission from a dynamic map, that was updated on how well the factions played against another faction. The game didn't cost a thing back than, could be that it was a open beta. I don't remember correctly, but I think it was not continued in development.

Does anyone of you know the name of the game?

It sounds kind of like Starseige or Tribes.

Did you start each mission by being dropped out from way out in the sky? Think it may have been an EA Battletech game that got canned in open beta.

Shattered Steel? It was the first game by Bioware.

Exactly how old are we talking here?

Reminds me of Multiplayer Battletech back on Gamestorm/AOL Games, but that isn't quite like you described it.

No, so far no luck in finding that game..

I think it was multiplayer only, and I think it was never released to the public. I guess thats why it's so hard to find.

Sounds like Twi hit the bullseye. What you're describing sounds like Multiplayer Battletech 3025, was a MMOFPS that EA was developing at one point. It was pushed into Open Beta, then the plug got pulled.

Valas_Azuviir

you are right, after looking a bit closer to that link I think thats the game. I totally ignored it at the first place because it's categorized as MMORPG which I think it isn't.

Thanks to you guys!
