I think the topic pretty much states it all... I'm looking for serious game suggestions that will assist me in testing my PC's capacity for gaming goodness. Here's the relative specs.

AMD64 Dual Core 3.0 GHz

4 gig DDR800 Corsair XM2 PC6400

2 x eVGA nVidia 8800 GTX SLI

My first game to test this build was Oblivion set to max. No problems there... can't really think of any other games that might tax this. Suggestions are welcome please.

If you're looking for a game for the sole purpose of testing a computer such as the one you have, I would suggest Microsoft Flight Simulator X. That game can bring pretty much any system to its knees. Other than that, your system can handle anything out at the moment.

Good suggestions so far.

I also like to throw in Lost Planet, Rainbow Six Vegas, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 and Armed Assault

Modern Flight SIMs in general usually are the way to benchmark your PC. I think games like Stalker where the air moves around dust and debris are also good games to stress test too as well as games with a lot of water effects.

Good luck with the AMD! I just got an XPS 710 H2C which I love and can run and max out every setting for just about everything out to date! Have fun bro!

Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like a flight sim could be a good benchmark... I've tried the FPS and action games mentioned, like GRAW 2, Vegas, Lost Planet, and those aren't a problem.

To Splintercellsc20: thanks dude, I am a big fan of AMD... but so far the opinions I've heard are that Intel is really doing much better than AMD with their dual and quad cores... Q_Q

Now you made me laugh!
The only reason I recommended dirt was because the game is "optimized" for dual-core cps and the 8800 ***( or ATI eqivalent) gpu. I also know that dirt over uses HDR and, as you said, it is done that way in order to cover the models and the game's flaws.

But I'm pretty sure that the TC will not have any problems running dirt or any game, hence my recommendation ;).
