Well the original crysis games you can sneak around. Most covert ops games seem to be third person such as alpha protocl and the new ghost recon future soldier. Perhaps the older ghost recon/rainbow six games/SWAT. There also the riddick games, which are technically FPS games. The original FEAR may also match your needs.
[QUOTE="lostrib"]yeah just finished it yesterday, was fun =) Check out the other two games. They're more of the same. The original FEAR may also match your needs.

Far Cry 2! Stealth is more realistic in that game as you can't just run around in the enemies FOV. The AI can see you and hear you, and they can hear their dead comrades dying, react to dead bodies, etc. You really have to plan your attack out and use your instincts.
I feel ya. The whole military thing gets old.
No one mentioned Splinter Cell yet? :(
Try it.
SC: Conviction is pretty decent. I like the story even though it lacks many of the gameplay mechanics of the previous games. Go back a step to SC: Chaos Theory and you can do much more, like carry around bodies to hide them and use the alternate fire on your pistol to send a sort of "focused EMP" to take out a light silently.. among other things that make it an amazing game.
the reason why nobody mentioned splinter cell is because he asked for an fps :P but yeah chaos theory is worth buying, even if you dont like stealth games, TPSs, tom clancy games, etc. No prejudice should stop you from playing chaos theoryI feel ya. The whole military thing gets old.

Call of Duty is an amazing FPS? lmao. SKaREO
The millions and millions of people that buy Call of Duty games on day one seem to think so.
Are you trying to say that your opinion means more than the record breaking sales this game has every year? The numbers don't lie, and it's clear that millions of gamers DO think the Call of Duty series of games are amazing, despite how you feel about the games.
Everybody likes different things, so stop trying to clown on people that happen to like something different than you do.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is actually a pretty bad ass espionage shooter, give it a shot if you have a PS3.SKaREO
lol no. Call of Duty spec-ops has more "espoinage" and "stealth" than that turd.

By your logic, Titanic and Avatar were works of art. Quantity!= quality.

No, logic in this case tells us that many millions of gamers purchase the Call of Duty games on the day that they are released, year after year. Clearly those people love and enjoy the games, so to act like the Call of Duty games are pure garbage is just ridiculous.
I happen to dislike the Grand Theft Auto games, but I am not retarded enough to suggest that they are not amazing games to those that DO enjoy them, simply because I do not enjoy them.
Same thing applies to your movie analogy, I know people that consider Avatar to be their favorite movie of all time, so who am I to suggest that they are "wrong" about it being an amazing movie? Millions of other people feel just like they do, regardless of what you are I have to say about it.
It's all subjective, there isn't a rule book that spells out what makes a game or a movie "good" or "bad". We are all free to determine that for ourselves. People need to start respecting that.

So what if others consider the games exceptional? I don't doubt that others think of the game as such. You're twisting words.

People hold conflicting views, therefore we shouldn't judge other people's opinions or discuss about opinions? How will that allow for quality criticism?

Of course it's all subjective. And that's precisely why we debate and challenge other people's opinions. You're rambling on about the most base and grating concepts as if it's ambigious. We are willing to respect other people's ABILITY to make opinions, but that is not to say that we will consistently respect other people's opinions. What you're arguing for is the debasement of criticism and the advocation of mediocrity of ideas.

You are sensing hostility where there is none, my friend. I apologize if my post seemed argumentative, that was not my intention (my use of the word "retarded" was a poor choice, and I can see how that could/would upset people).
My point is simply that in the grand scheme of things, endlessly arguing over which games are "amazing" is a silly waste of time, when amazing means different things to different people, and I have no ability (nor desire) to change that.
I accept that people have their own tastes, and I do not "lmao" and engage in heated arguments when they say that they like a game or a movie that I don't. Perhaps you feel that that qualifies as the "advocation of mediocrity of ideas", but I do not share that opinion.
