Looking for help, upgrading my processor.

I'll bet I just need to upgrade my RAM, but I still have some questions about upgrading my processor...

Here's my system:

I don't know what my motherboard is, or how to find out what it is. It would be cool if someone could help me figure out what my motherboard is.

My system is a Dell Dimension E510.

2 processors running, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3.40GHz x2.

Ram: 1GB.

Video Card: GeForce 8500 GT.

Where did you get the info om your processors? I dont recall Dell selling PC's with 2 processors. did you possibly go into device manager and saw it listed 2 processors? I think you might be confusing with Hyperthreading. But if im wrong and you do have 2 physical processors sorry:(cheetfreak

Well, when I run the GameSpot System Requirements Test it says I have two processors. Rated at 5.09...

Im still thinking its reading Hyperthreading as Dual processors,look in your case:D if there are two heatsinks on your mobo you have two processors, But i doubt it:D

Or he could have a pentium D.

Actually, you're right, I just checked. He's got a 650, with HT.

But from what I can see (and I might be wrong), you're stuck with the Pentium series, you can't go up to the Core 2 series,

That appears to be the case. Any idea how much higher than 3.4 GHz I can get?

From what I can see, the highest you can go with your chipset is the P4 672, which is 3.8GHz.

But really the difference between the two doesn't make the cost worth it in my opinion.

I think you're right. I'll probably hold off for a while and get myself a new motherboard and ship the pieces I can use from my current PC to a new one, and just add some memory.
