looking for newer spacegames

Hi.

I have played Freelancer and finshed the game. Now i will play some new spacegames. Ideas?

You could give DarkStar One a try, its only $10 on Steam, so what do you really have to lose, except maybe $10! :)

Go try out Sins of a Solar Empire. It got high ratings here and on other sites so thats what I would recommend. From what I understand it's quite similar to Freelancer. I hope that helped :)

He should definately try Sins too, but I don't really think they are similar games.

Oldies: Homeworld series

If you haven't played it, Homeworld. One of the best strategy games ever, great story, and gameplay holds up even today. If you want a space simulator (like freelancer) play Freespace 2. Definitely the best of those, and thanks to Hard Light Productions, the game almost looks like a game made today.Cniinc

Sins is the best over all civiliaation rts space series you will see..

Freespace 2 is the number one best game out there when it comes to space sims.. It is only made only better with teh mod community which has not only graphically enhanced the games but has made countless campaigns and complete conversion mods, some even with voice acting.. Not to mention they have fully modded over the originall Freespace campaign over to the second one as well.. The game is also free to download, you should get it off the hard light productions bit torrent....

Another huge game is X3.. It is a flight sim 4x with huge economics, one of the few games to fly capatial ships and there is tons of updates on it.. Be warned though there is a steeped learning curve where it will take quite some time to get use to.. But the game is just incrediably huge.. It can be gotten off steam for $10-$20..
