So far I'm happy with:

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX

Processor: core 2 quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz

GPU: Evga 512 p3 n802 a1 8800GT Superclocked 512MB

Ram: Gskill 4gb 240-pin ddr2 sdram ddr2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel

HD: Samsung spinpoint T series 500gb

PC power and cooling silencer 610W

Tuniq Tower 120 p4 & k8 cpu cooler

I'm trying to keep it around 1,500 - 2 grand, what would you replace/upgrade? I'm still undecided if a sound card is worth it or not, probably keeping my old monitor and speakers.

I also read that the Tuniq Tower is huge and hard to install, any good alternatives for a first timer?

Lastly I need some advice on a nice big case, hopefully a noob friendly one

Nice setup. Only thing I would change though it getting the SEAGATE 500 GB 7200.11 HDD, its better.

TT 120 is a big and heavy heatsink, but its got a backplate to support with the motherboard. Another alernative is the thermalright ultra 120 extreme with Scythe S-FLEX 120 mm fan. Its the best heatsink sround (but pretty close to TT 120 in terms of cooling).

If you want something smaller, lighter, and friedly to use, get the arctic cooling freezer 7 pro. Best bang for the buck heatsink.

The motherboard you have has onboard audio and should be sufficient for your need unless your gettin high end PC speakers.

A good case I recommend is the Antec 900.

He has a power and cooling silencer 610W PSU, one of the best out there.

Get a SATA DVD-RW, cant remember what speeds to look for though. Also if you want a sound card i recommend a X-Fi Xtreme Gamer.

Something's very, VERY wrong if you haven't heard of PC Power & Cooling yet. They have quite a reputation for quality power supplies, and their Silencer line is based off of a Seasonic design not too unlike some of Antec's and Corsair's offerings(which are also lauded and a lot more popular for some reason). Anyway, to put that question to rest, I own the exact same power supply, and it works great. (It's probably overkill for my system, but I want to be prepared for power-guzzling graphics cards and the like down the road.) Concerning sound cards, modern onboard sound seemed as good as any other sound card I've heard...until I heard my Auzentech X-Fi Prelude in action, that is. And that's with crappy speakers and .MP3-encoded files! I can only imagine what it would pump out if I connected a set of Logitech Z-5500s to it. (Of course, 190-200 US$ for a sound card is way too much for many to stomach; you could just get a Creative SB X-Fi XtremeGamer for half the price or even less and still get most of the X-Fi features.) Also, I'd dump that Tuniq Tower 120 for a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, or perhaps the Ultima-90 if you don't want to put too much stress on your mobo resulting from holding up a heavy HSF while having almost-as-low temperatures. Now, on to the main topic at hand-the case. The Rosewill R6AR6-BK that I use is a compelling option for a fairly low price-drives are easy to mount(5.25" drives have screw-on rails and are slid in from the front while the front panel is removed; 3.5" drives have easily-removable bays), the annoying screwless card holder can be taken off once you unscrew some screws(and expansion card screws are supplied with the case), and there's plenty of room around the case for things like stuffing the Silencer 610's unused cables somewhere away from the middle of the case to disrupt airflow and mounting huge HSFs. It could use an extra front 120mm fan(there's an empty mount for one just in front of the internal 3.5" drive bay)and a front FireWire jack, but my experience with it has been good overall. (Nobody aside from myself even dares to mention it, though; I'm betting that were it the Antec SLK3x00B that has almost the exact same case structure and side panel, though a different front panel, people would be raving about it.) Then again, you have more money to blow on a case-thus, you can afford one of those nice Lian-Li(PC-61/65 in particular)or Antec(900/1200/P180B/P182/P190)offerings, or maybe even the Thermaltake Armor if you want a HUGE case. And those are just a few of the more popular options...
