As topic states I am looking to build a computer for around $1500 Canadian not including OS or monitor, etc. I am willing to go up or down about $200 so that allows for some playing around (not too sure since this will be my first PC) And just ahead of time thanks for any and all help. :)

Awesome. Thanks a lot. :DSadistic_Grunt

You're welcome. However, I made a slight error with the price I listed. I put$1,165.95 for the build with 2 6970s. However, it's actually$1,677.91 with two 6970s. Sorry about that. I've already edited the post to reflect this.

BluRayHiDef has assembled a nice collection of parts. Very nice.

That being said I do have some advice. I would only get one 6970 for now! That should be plenty of power so you can wait until the prices drop before you CF.

No, but is it awesome? Yes. Also, considering the number of exclusive features that board offers, it a steal at its current discounted price.

Is this budget including tax or not? Because BluRayHiDef's build comes up to 1939.41 with tax and shipping included. Also some criticisms on that build:

- OCZ memory is junk. They're cheap for a reason.

- The Antec 1200 is overpriced for what it is. Get a HAF 932 instead, or even a HAF X.

- The burner in that build is IDE, which will impede airflow due to the horrible ribbon cable it requires.

- The Big Bang board is only that expensive because of that Lucid chip, and it's hardly optimized for everyday use, unless you only run benchmarks on your computer. You're better off getting a Maximus III Formula or something like that if you want a high end P55 motherboard, and also a multi-GPU setup that is known to work properly.

Depends on where you live in Canada. I'm from Quebec and when I order from NCIX\Newegg,I only have 1 tax(5%) since I'm not from Ontario

I think Quebec is the only province that is excluded from the full wrath of the 13% HST. You guys are so lucky...

EDIT: Nvm. Looks like the Prairie regions are also exempt. Only BC, Ontario, and the Atlantic Regions have the HST.

Guess it depends where the TC lives :?

There is nothing wrong with OCZ memory. I have 6GB of it and my computer runs just fine.

I did too (OCZ Gold 2GB DDR2 sticks, to be exact), but as far as I've seen, all the retailers that I've been through have customer reviews saying they've had DOA or faulty sticks when they purchased it - more so than your typical DRAM product. There are obviously the occasional lucky ones who get good sticks, but if I was the TC, I would rather not take that risk.
