So it's getting around the 2 year mark for my 8800gt so I'm considering upgrading. I'm looking at something around the price of a 4870. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, my CPU is only a AMD Athlon X2 6000+ and I only have 2 gigs of ddr 2....will this bottleneck a new gpu? Do I need to just consider getting a new rig? Thanks for any help in advance guys :D

Get a Quad, then wait for the new NVidia cards, you might see price drops on 5800s.

i had a 8800 GT and recently upgraded to a GTX 260 core 216 ocx maxcore. i also considered the 4870. i plan on keeping the GTX 260 for 12-18 months. then i'll buy a good bang for the buck DX11 card.

I'm in a similar situation, and have decided to wait for Fermi/GT300. I want to see what NVIDIA's DX11-compliant hardware can do.
