I have had my 8800GT for a couple of years and it has done me well, but with the release of Star Wars the Old Republic, it is just not cutting it.

My current specs are:

AMD Phenom II X4 840 @ 3.2 GHz

6 GB RAM

MSI 785GT - E63 mobo

600w power supply

I was looking to spend around 150-200 bucks for something that is a decent upgrade from my 8800GT, preferably Nvidia, I hear SW ToR has problems with ATI.

Thanks in advance!

A GTX560ti would be a good choice right now. For about or even under $200. Watch for an MSI HAWK or a 560ti Core 448 (downgraded GTX570)...

PRoblems with ati/amd, you heard wrong. The hd 6870 is in your price range, so is the gtx 560, the hd 6870 is the best bang for the buck. The gtx 560ti or hd 6950 are in a somewhat higher price range (above 200$) and are about 10 percent better than the hd 6870.

Nice.

The HAWK version sadly costs $65 more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127578

Yeah there were some people with really high end ATI cards that were getting 5-10 FPS at the Imperial Fleet. Even I get 15-20 with my rig everything maxed with no shadows.

lol you just missed GTX 460 1GB for $120.

HD 6870 for $170 or that GTX 560 TI. Both very good choices.

Wait for Kepler (NVIDIA next-gen) before making a move. If it's an improvement, then upgrade to one of the new cards. If it isn't, buy one of the GTX 400/500 series at subsequently reduced prices.

The 8800gt should be enough for SWTOR. My old 8800gt could max it out fine at 1680x1050 even 1920x1080 should be fine.
